The Final Countdown How would you measure the success of the work you did? How did you make a meaningful contribution to the workplace? How was you work meaningful to your education? How was your work significant to life beyond school? I would say my work was successful, because I was greeted with nothing but smiles and praise after everything did. I would also say that this is a great reason why I feel I made a valid contribution. Jen and Saura were so sweet and would praise us after we'd do a task for them, but they'd also give little hints, and subtle jabs that implied they valued us as human beings and not just as Interns. Jen said multiple times that she'd hire us full time for pay if it were legal.
I feel it's really important to be educated in academics, but I also feel it's very important to be educated in how to socialize with different types of people. In the Thinkabit Lab I was faced with dealing with adults, little children, and my peers. So I'd say it was definitely meaningful to my education in the sense that I was able to work with many different types of personalities and age ranges. This also applies to outside of school. It's important to know how to deal with certain types of people because if you you don't know how to deal with someone, that could make or break a potential networking opportunity... you know what they say, "it's not what you know, it's who you know" that'll take you places.
